Advanced Ag has grown into a leading agronomy provider in the Goulburn and Murray Valley, combining local expertise, independence, and a strong focus on delivering results for farmers.
Advanced Agricultural Products & Systems (Advanced Ag) has grown from a small startup into a major agronomy service provider across the Goulburn Valley and Murray Valley since launching in May 2008.
Based in Shepparton, the business now employs more than 20 staff, plus casuals, across three locations, supporting farmers from Kerang to Howlong and from Berrigan to Seymour and everywhere in between. The team includes experienced agronomists with a combined 100 years of industry knowledge.
General Manager Andrew Mann said the business has maintained its independence while continuing to focus on its core agronomy services.
“We are a local, independent agronomy business, focusing on your agronomy first,” Mr Mann said. “That is what drives our business.”
Advanced Ag works with a diverse client base, including broadacre cropping farmers growing canola, wheat, barley, oats, lentils and beans. The company also has significant exposure in the dairy industry, providing services for pastures and corn production.
Mr Mann noted the company is one of the largest corn suppliers across Victoria and southern New South Wales and emphasised the importance of farmers having access to highly trained and qualified agronomists.
“You are trying to get the most out of your crops, the biggest yield and sustainable production you can, as well as make every drop of rain or megalitre of water give you the best returns,” he said.
Advanced Ag is part of the National Rural Independents Group, reinforcing its commitment to local communities while also providing access to a wider network, competitive pricing, and the latest products available in the market.
The business supplies seed for a wide range of crops and pastures, along with fertilisers, chemicals and inoculants, all stored and distributed through its Shepparton warehouse. Services also include soil, plant and water testing, with agronomists providing full agronomy support and advice.
“It is important to understand the nutritional requirements of the crop, as well as focus on weeds, pests and diseases to maximise returns to farmers,” Mr Mann said.
The company maintains close relationships with major chemical manufacturers and continues to support new products as they come to market, ensuring farmers have access to the latest innovations.
“We have stock in the shed ready for this autumn’s sowing, and we remain a truly private and independent local business,” Mr Mann said.
